Zack Snyder’s Sci-Fi Movie Rebel Moon Has Started Shooting | Movies

Come on, Zack Snyder fans – the director with one of the most active fan bases on the internet is back in business. After a bumper 2021 that finally saw the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice Leagueas well as his action-packed zombie epic Army of the DeadSnyder has just started shooting his next movie – again for Netflix. While the expanding Dead universe will continue to planned sequel Planet of the DeadSnyder first detours into sci-fi territory with Rebel Moon† On the occasion of the start of production, the filmmaker shared some snapshots on social media.

Starting life as Snyder suggested Star Wars movie, Rebel Moon takes inspiration from Akira Kurosawa’s seven samurai – tells the story of a galactic colony that gathers a group of warriors to fend off the tyrannical Balisarius. Snyder’s series of photos includes a black-and-white shot of General Titus of Djimon Hounsou, fully armored, as well as some behind-the-scenes spaceship shots. The stacked cast also includes Rupert Friend as Balisarius, plus Charlie Hunnam, Sofia Boutella, Jena Malone, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Cary Elwes, Doona Bae and Ray Fisher. Snyder co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad.
