According to a post on the Oak Park Police Department’s Facebook page, officers responded to a gunshot fired at about 1:52 a.m. on the 100 block of Chicago Avenue — on Taylor Avenue — and found an unresponsive woman in a parking lot. over there.

The woman has not been identified since late Tuesday afternoon.

Police said in a social media post that the woman had a gunshot wound to the head area.

“A witness reported seeing two male subjects approach the victim from behind, fire one shot, take objects from the victim and flee the scene in the victim’s dark Chrysler vehicle,” the social media post read. .

The woman was taken to a hospital in the region where she was pronounced dead, police said in the post.

Some people who identified themselves as residents living near the gas station responded to the police post, asking other residents of the area to join forces to tackle the ongoing crime at the gas station.

Another called for the 24-hour gas station to “close or close at a reasonable hour”.

Gas station owners were not immediately available for comment.
