Wildfire burns 35 acres after eruption near Wrightwood

A wildfire started on Saturday, June 11 near Wrightwood, California, burning 35 acres at a “moderate spread rate,” official reports said. Video filmed by Tia Neuroth in Wrightwood shows flames from the fire, dubbed the Sheep Fire. Last Saturday, about 200 firefighters were assigned to the wildfire, which was contained at zero percent. No evacuation orders had been issued and the fire was located about 2.1 miles from the nearest structure, on Desert Front Road in Wrightwood. The cause of the fire was investigated.
