Tyler Childers sings “The Old Country Church” by Hank Williams, backed by The Travelin’ McCouris at DelFest

look at old man Tyler Childers going back to its roots.

The man headlined DelFest last weekend, a bluegrass festival hosted by bluegrass legend Del McCoury in Cumberland, Maryland.

But this time, Tyler Childers was there to play bluegrass tunes with the help of another backing band, The Travelin’ McCouris.

With bluegrass spins on some of his big hits, some unreleased new ones, and of course a few covers, Tyler and the Travelin’ McCouris turned it all the way back to 1952 (and were joined for this by Del himself) by creating one. cover of Hank Williams’ greats, “The Old Country Church.”

Since the 30-year-old is from the state of Bluegrass, and some of his songs have a lot of bluegrass influence, songs like this are just second nature to the independent country music star (who just went double platinum with “Feathered Indians”).

This appearance comes on the heels of his surprise fill at the second annual Fallsburg Summer Stage, a small music festival hosted in Louisa, Kentucky.
