Tribute to 53 years killed after being hit by police car in Royton

Tributes have been paid to 53-year-old mother-of-three Heather Smedley – aged 53 – who has died as a result of her injuries after being tragically involved in a road accident this morning in Royton, Oldham

In tribute to Heather, her family said: “To the most wonderful mother of Benjamin, Olivia and Jamie, daughter of Hilda and Fred, sister, friend and wife of Damian.

“The world was a much better place with you in it.

“Our mother was the most kind, gentle, beautiful soul inside and out. She faced all the challenges of life with her beautiful smile and her courage and courage never wavered.

“We couldn’t have wished for a better role model as she grew up, gave everything she had for everyone she loved, and always supported those around her.

She was the glue that held our family together. Her resilience and kindness inspired us all to get better.

“She had the greatest sense of humor and infectious laugh that we will miss every day.

“You were too good for this world, mom, there will be a hole in our hearts forever.”
