Teens charged with assault and robbery of 13-year-old in Grimsby

Police said they have arrested three teenage boys and a 19-year-old after investigating a fight in Grimsby in which a 13-year-old boy was injured.

The Niagara Regional Police Department said in a press release that officers were called after reports of a brawl near Willow Lane and Hemlock Way, about half an hour east of Hamilton, on Sept. 21. When officers arrived, police said more than 50 young people were on the scene just after noon.

A 13-year-old boy suffered minor injuries in the fight, police said.

Police said less than a day later, officers were told a video of the brawl was circulating online. The video shows the boy being beaten and kicked by at least seven people, Niagara police said in a statement.

Police are asking anyone who may have the video to remove it.

After an investigation, detectives have arrested four people, according to the police.

A 13-year-old boy from West Lincoln was charged with theft and assault, a 15-year-old boy from West Lincoln was charged with theft and a 14-year-old Lincoln boy was charged with theft. The names of the three young suspects have not been released and are protected by the Juvenile Criminal Law Act.

Police said they also charged Tyler Susi, a 19-year-old from Grimsby, with robberyYes.

All four have been released from police custody and are expected to appear in court at future dates.
