Sneak-in thief steals handbag and passport from housewife York

A WOMAN has made a desperate call for help after a sneaky thief stole her purse and passport from her home in York.

Nejla Aslan said she needed the passport to attend her sister’s wedding.

“I desperately need it,” she said. “It’s a nightmare.”

She said her purse was stolen from her Nunnery Lane home last night while she was home.

“My back door wasn’t locked,” she said. “Usually we lock the doors, but this time we left them open.

“I was downstairs in the living room when they sneaked in and took my handbag from the kitchen.

“I had everything you can think of in my bag; the most important thing was my passport. I canceled all my cards, driver’s license etc.

“If anyone sees a large black handbag nearby, please contact me.”

She said she also wanted to educate people to be careful and lock their doors all the time.

Anyone who has seen Nejla’s bag or can help in any way can call 07770 748800.
