Seth Lakeman cancels shows after bike accident injury

A Devon singer has announced that his upcoming shows have been canceled after he was injured in a bicycle accident. Seth Lakeman took to social media and shared an image of himself on crutches.

The multi-award-winning folk singer from Yelverton has been forced to reschedule performances due to take place at the end of April after the incident. The dates have been moved to later this year, in September.

Seth said the shows should “go ahead as planned” from May 10. This means that the tour will start in Sheffield, together with Alex Hart.

On Facebook, Seth said: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are moving the dates with the band from the end of April to September. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

“All tickets remain valid for the new dates. The shows with Alex Hart starting May 10 in Sheffield should be able to go ahead as planned.”

He explained that the shows involved were included; Colchester, Southampton, London, Frome, Tavistock, Stoke and Holmfirth. These will now take place from September 19 to September 25.

In a later update, posted today, Seth apologized to fans and shared a photo of his injuries as he leaned on crutches. He appeared to have cuts to his hand and elbow – and was wearing only one shoe.

He said: “I’m sorry to everyone who booked tickets for next week, a bike accident happened. So frustrating because I was really looking forward to playing again – I’ll be back soon stomping and singing.”
