Russia fires 7000 mph Zircon hypersonic nuclear missile as ‘unstoppable’ weapon just WEEKS away from use on warships

RUSSIA today fired the new hypersonic Zircon nuclear missile at a speed of 7,000 km/h, another chilling warning to the West.

Dramatic footage shows the “unstoppable” weapon before it is deployed on warships within weeks.

It comes after Russia staged nuclear missile exercises earlier this week and is rehearsing how it can destroy the West in minutes.

Footage shows the massive hypersonic ballistic missile launchers being transported through the forest in the Ivanovo region.

And in the final showdown, the 7000 mph Zircon was fired from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate in the Barents Sea, hitting a target 625 miles away in the White Sea.

A statement from the Russian Defense Ministry said: “According to objective control data, the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile successfully hit a naval target located at a distance of about 1,000 km.

“The flight of the hypersonic missile corresponded to the specified parameters.”

Deliveries of the Zircon should be made within months and possibly weeks.

The Kremlin had previously branded the deadly weapon, which carries a conventional or nuclear warhead, as “unstoppable”.

Russia released images in March of the deadly weapon that could hit London within five minutes.

In January, Deputy Defense Secretary Alexey Kryvoruchko said: “The state tests of the Zircon sea-based hypersonic cruise missile are nearing completion.

“Serial deliveries will begin in 2022.”

The Zircon will be deployed on Russian frigates and later on submarines.

Previously, it was identified by Moscow’s state-controlled TV as Putin’s weapon of choice to wipe out American cities in the event of a nuclear conflict.

TV Zvezda – a channel owned by the Russian Defense Ministry – said of the footage: “The stealth features of the Russian zircon hypersonic missile have been revealed.

“The speed of the Zircon hypersonic missile is so high that it prevents the opponent’s air defense system from detecting its impact in time.

“In fact, the launch will not be known until after the target has been hit.”

The missile also has a “variable trajectory” to avoid detection, viewers were told.

The Zircon of Tsirkon is just one of Putin’s terrifying superweapons.

The deadly RS-28 Sarmat missile can fly 11,000 miles, carry 15 missiles and have the potential to destroy an area the size of France.

Earlier this week, Putin ally Dmitry Rogozin boasted how Russia will deploy 50 Satan-2 nuclear weapons.

He previously boasted to a group of schoolchildren that the rocket will “go into battle” this year.

Another of Putin’s superweapons is the SC-X-9 Skyfall, a nuclear-armed cruise missile with “unlimited” range.

It can be launched from land or sea and can stay in the air for DAYS – making even long-range attacks lightwork.

The terrifying nuclear-armed submarine drone Poseidon can cause tidal waves and “radioactive tsunamis”.

The nuclear weapon can be dropped by the submarine on the seabed and travel through the coastal defenses until it reaches the desired location.
