The Grand Shield winners add vigor to their cornet section ahead of the big games later in the season with the singing of the veteran Andy Novell.
The newly crowned 2022 Grand Shield champion Rothwell Temperance has bolstered his cornet section ahead of his appearances at the British Open and National Championships of Great Britain.
The veteran Andy Novell joins the band from Yorkshire after a five-year tenure as first cornet of Shepherd Group Brass in the North East.
The announcement was made on the band’s Facebook page, with MD, David Roberts, saying: “We are impressed with Andy’s attitude and natural cornet sound. We look forward to seeing his development.
I am delighted to welcome him to the band for what will hopefully be a long and successful sojourn.”
Look forward to something
In response, the player added: “After playing with Rothwell for a concert at Morley Town Hall, I was excited to have the chance to participate.
I’m really looking forward to working with Dave and the band and can’t wait to get started preparing for the Open and National Finals.”
