Speaking at the British Soap Awards on Saturday, he said: “It’s huge and it’s going to upset a few people.

“I will miss everyone, but I want to go out decently. I came in clean and I want to look good.

“I wish I could tell you more. Over the next few months you’ll learn a little bit about what we’re going to do, but I can tell you it’s huge.”

He added: “I want to go out in a way that gets people talking.

“It’s something that needs to be discussed more openly and I think it will shock a few people.”

Danny continued: “I’ve done ten years, over 1,000 episodes, and it’s time to move on.

“I just want the right ending. I don’t want to jump in the back of a taxi!”

His departure will be the focus of the big episodes around Christmas and New Years.

Danny said: “It’s Christmas so we’ll finish shooting around October.

“I’m looking forward to going there again. I’m emotional about it, but it’s a big thing for me. It was a big decision to make.

“But it’s time now. I want to see what’s in store for me. Who knows? Maybe f*** all.”

When asked if he could go back to the soap in case it doesn’t work out, Danny answered no.

Shaking his head, he confirmed that Mick will not be able to return to Walford after the end of the full stop.

He has also stepped down from presenting the BBC’s Saturday night quiz show, The Wall, after four series.

But Danny has already signed up for new jobs and will star in a Netflix quiz show called Cheat and will appear in a four-part drama filming Channel 5 in Australia.

And there was more to come for the Death in Paradise star, who has a passion for politics.

Ralf was relieved to learn that his four-time great-grandfather John Woollam was one of the very first mayors of Manchester in the 1800s, but was disappointed to learn he was a Conservative.

The episode will air on BBC1 on June 30.

Alexander will explore the amazing Gyeongbokgung Palace, cities where robots serve chicken in restaurants and even visit a ‘poo cafe’ where everything, including the teacups, is toilet inspired.

Alexander said: “Now that we are free to roam outside the green zone countries with pandemic restrictions, I felt it was time to dive into something really different.

“South Korea is a country that has acquired great cultural significance over the past ten years and yet we know so little about it.

“So my first suggestion when Channel 5 kindly asked if I wanted to do another travelogue was Seoul, and don’t spare the horses.”

VIEWERS RAP C4’S PANIC AD

VIEWERS have complained to Ofcom about Channel 4’s false “emergency news” interruption to the scheduled broadcast, which warned viewers of a “devastating cyberattack”.

The Prime Minister’s statement, which aired Friday night before Celebrity Gogglebox, was a stunt to stop the new Simon Pegg GCHQ cyber-attack drama, The Undeclared War.

“We said, ‘We understand you’d like to be in the song?’ and he said, “No. I don’t dance… I sing. You dance.”

“We started dancing in rehearsals and he stopped, spoke to someone and we were told, ‘Can’t you stand in front of him when you’re dancing?’
