‘Roads turned into rivers’ as flash floods ravage New York

On May 28, a road in Nyack, New York, was flooded after a Flash Flood Warning was issued for several areas in the south of the state. Images by Rebecca Franz show water flowing down a drain. Franz wrote that “driveways, backyards and roads” in the city “had turned into rivers”. The National Weather Service in New York issued a Flash Flood Warning for Nyack and surrounding areas on May 28, advising people to look for higher elevations. Credit: Rebecca Franz via Storyful
