The study from odds comparison site Odds Scanner analyzed the statistics of all attackers who played more than 1,000 minutes in the Premier League last season to see which players had the worst ‘minutes per goal contribution’.
Of course, in the modern game, attacking players are judged on more than just their contributions in front of goal, but it cannot be denied that their main goal is still to get the ball into the back of the net.
Few teams have had more players in goals this season than Newcastle United, with Callum Wilson’s injury meaning the goals had to be split across the team.
