Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton says Queensland Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk must resort to “media spin” after the publication of a state public sector integrity report “should concern every Queenslander”.
Mr Houghton said the Queensland government has been rocked by a “scathing report” on integrity issues by Professor Peter Coaldrake, which has warned the state government has systemic problems with bullying in the public sector and making politicized decisions.
“Instead of acknowledging her shortcomings and how bad the findings were, the Prime Minister went on the defensive and suggested the findings didn’t even bother her,” Mr Houghton said.
“And I think watching that press conference gives you a sense of what Coaldrake was suggesting. This is a government that is incapable of taking criticism or difficult questions from the media without lashing out,” he said.
“A true leader takes responsibility when the culture of their operation is compromised.”
