A new British horror film is considered the ‘most disturbing’ film to ever hit the big screen in the UK.
Men, by director Alex Garland, has made some viewers so insane that they stepped out of their cinema seats halfway through the horror party because they feared permanent “psychological damage” after watching just a few minutes of the film.
The A24 film comes from the same talented creator of hit films, including Annihilation and Ex Machina – and while it has already received rave reviews, some moviegoers have been left ‘scarred’ by watching it.
The terrifying film follows widow Harper, played by Irish actress Jessie Buckley, who flees to the English countryside after the tragic death of her beloved husband.

And while she booked the trip to escape her grief and find comfort instead, it quickly turns into an unprecedented nightmare when she discovers she’s attracted an unwanted stalker.
As Harper desperately tries to seek help in the surrounding village, things go from bad to worse when she is beset by her darkest fears and memories – as well as the useless and downright creepy inhabitants of the rural village.
The shape-shifting horror film certainly left viewers shivering in their boots—with some branding men doing one of the most disturbing things they’ve ever seen.

† The new #a24 movie is one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen,” one moviegoer wrote on Twitter.
“Whoever came up with the creepy storyline behind Men should be locked up. I’ll never sleep again,” echoed someone else.

“I had to leave halfway through watching Men. Without a doubt the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m afraid it will leave me with permanent psychological damage lol,” another said.
Meanwhile, a fourth viewer tweeted: “I’ve seen a lot of disturbing, horrific horror movies, but Men really made me want to walk out of the theater because I was so insane.”
A24’s Men is now in cinemas.
