The DC Department of Behavioral Health served a man “in need of help” at a Northwest apartment when he allegedly made threats and barricaded himself on Sunday, police said.
The barricade occurred shortly before 1:00 PM in the Glover Park neighborhood of Block 2300 of 41st Street NW.
The police arrested the man, who said he threatened with a knife and with bomb threats.
It is unclear why the man needed help in the first place.
“Keep in mind that we will have a lot of police and emergency services in the area. Events like this can take a long time, so we appreciate your patience as we try to safely address this concern and work with neighbors in the area,” the police said.
