Man and woman injured in assault in York leave hospital

A MAN and woman seriously injured in an assault at their home in York have been released from hospital.

The two people were taken to hospital after the attack at their home on Rosemary Court off Navigation Road, between Foss Islands Road and Walmgate, in the early hours of July 31, and the access road to some flats was cordoned off by police.

North Yorkshire Police then said both people were in hospital in serious condition after the attack.

A spokesman said officers were looking for a suspect they described as a short white man in his early twenties and slim build, with short brown hair styled to the side.

They said officers were appealing to anyone who may have witnessed someone in the area around the time of the incident or who may have CCTV footage, dashcam footage or other information that could aid the investigation to call 101 quoting ref: 12220134138.

They added that officers believed the attack was an isolated incident.

A spokeswoman said today that both people had been released from hospital, no arrests had been made and investigations were ongoing.
