A man has been charged in connection with a shooting incident in Co Louth on Friday.
Another man in his 30s was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. The incident took place at about 4:30 a.m. in Oliver Plunkett Park, a residential street in Dundalk. He was taken to the hospital of Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda for treatment.
Later on Friday, a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident. He was held at Dundalk Garda station and held under section 30 of the 1939 State Crimes Act before being charged.
The man will appear before a special session of the Drogheda court on Sunday at noon.
Further investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
