Learning to earn back to the west

The West’s Learning for Earning Festival is back and will equip job seekers with skills to increase their employability.

The free event will take place May 25-26 and will feature a series of writing sessions, marketing workshops, business promotion strategies and fake job interviews.

Participants also have access to three online forums, opportunities in the west, meet the major employers in the west and want to work in a local government forum.

Wyndham Deputy Mayor Jasmine Hill encouraged residents to use the events to hone their skills and learn about different avenues to work.

“Residents can participate in mock interviews to hone their skills, take part in an online job search introduction or participate in social media workshops. There really is something for everyone,” said Cr Hill.

“This year, the LearnWest network is hosting events that provide practical advice and assistance. There are so many workshops and forums that residents can attend that will help them in their future work.”

The Learning for Earning Festival is a joint program created in conjunction with LearnWest, Wyndham Council, Brimbank, Darebin, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Melton City Council.
