Kyle Sandilands has provided insight into his early days of becoming a father.

The radio king of Sydney, 51, welcomed baby Otto with partner Tegan Kynaston, 36, at Prince of Wales Private Hospital in Sydney on Thursday.

Kyle told The Sunday Telegraph this week that Otto has already won his heart and he can’t stop ‘staring’ at him.

“We just look at him all the time, like some idiots, just staring at him — and then we look at each other and smile,” Kyle told the publication.

‘And then we’ [himself and Tegan] have a tear.’

Kyle also said that Otto is “very quiet” and “feeds well” with the new mom, Tegan.

The radio star said that while babies have been “a little too much for him” before, he feels his natural parenting instincts have kicked in.

“When I’ve held other friends’ babies, I hated it when they had that floppy neck and it’s all a bit much for me — but it was different for him,” he said.

“That natural may have smashed in.”

Kyle revealed that he has been congratulated by the Prime Minister and past Prime Ministers.

He also said he was glad the Covid restrictions had allowed him and Tegan to spend some time alone with Otto.

Kyle and Tegan welcomed Otto Thursday morning.

His co-host Jackie O Henderson announced the good news on the air and Kyle’s manager Bruno Bouchet told Daily Mail Australia: ‘Little Otto was born this morning. Mom and Bub are both doing well.’

“Kyle is beyond excited. Kyle will be back on the radio show tomorrow to talk about all things Otto,” he added.

Jackie, Otto’s godmother, shed tears of joy as she declared, “Otto is born!”

Kyle later gave a rather graphic update on the birth, telling ‘trainee’ Peter Deppeler live in the hospital parking lot: ‘Otto’s born, Otto’s fabulous. I cut the cord, not realizing it was a hard calamari and the blood spurted out.

Dressed in blue scrubs, the delighted new dad said, “I was the first to touch him, he shits himself, poop seeps out.”

Deppeler also shot a comedic video of Kyle indulging in a cooler bag full of snacks at the hospital.

“The baby is eating. Then I thought, ‘If you’re eating, I’ll be eating too,’ he explained.

While the KIIS FM team was unable to broadcast from the delivery suite, they did add a personal touch to Tegan and Kyle’s big day by creating a baby-themed playlist to play while she gave birth.
