Feel good! Kristin Cavallaric opened up about her fitness regime – revealing why she views weight gain as a positive, but won’t step on the scale.
“My goal right now is just to keep the muscles I have. I’m not trying to lose weight,” the 35-year-old designer told exclusively We Weekly on Saturday, June 25, while attending the Uncommon James and Uncommon Beauty Pool Party at Casa Del Sol’s House of the Sun home in Amagansett, New York. “I don’t weigh myself. I can see how my clothes fit me.”
The founder of Uncommon James commented, “I’ve gained a lot of weight in recent years, but in a good way.”
Cavallari explained that while looking back at photos from her past, she was “shocked at how skinny” she had been for a while. “I didn’t realize then how skinny I was. So I’m glad I’ve arrived,” she told U.S†
In recent years, the laguna beach alum has focused on gaining muscle through her workouts, which she has accomplished with the help of a personal trainer.
“I’m really small. I don’t have hips. I’m just small. And so if I don’t exercise for a week or two, I feel like all my muscles are gone,” Cavallari said. “So it’s about consistency for me.”
The founder of Uncommon Beauty shared her favorite fitness routine: U.S that she and her trainer try to do three one-on-one workouts a week.
“He kicks me in the ass. He pushes me really hard. He really makes me lift a really heavy weight, the heaviest weight I’ve ever lifted in my entire life,” she proudly revealed, adding: “I feel the best I’ve ever had. I feel like I’m the strongest I’ve ever been.”
The mother of three – who shares sons Camden, 9 and Jaxon, 8, and daughter Saylor, 6 with estranged husband Jay Cutler — is proud of how far she’s come in the wellness department.
“I’m just really good in my own skin now, which is a really good feeling,” Cavallari told U.S, noting that her workouts don’t stop with her trainer-led exercises. “Usually I will train and do maybe 30 minutes of a VersaClimber [on a fourth day]who also kicks you in the ass, man.”
To ensure that her fitness efforts are not in vain, True Roots author says she also eats “very healthy” and doesn’t drink alcohol “as often”. Cavallari described her general routine as a “healthy lifestyle” that “all works together.”
The hills alum prides itself on how much she can do in a day, including charting time for herself, her children, and her career. “I feel like right now I’m only doing the things I really love and that feels really good,” she said U.S, in which she explains that in addition to her work at Uncommon James, she is also working on a new cookbook. “My work-life balance is perfect at the moment and I’m very grateful for that.”
However, having balance doesn’t mean that Cavallari doesn’t have a little fun every now and then. The podcast “Back to the Beach With Kristin and Stephen” even offers a mix of business and pleasure while hanging out at the Uncommon James x Casa Del Sol event on Saturday.
“We’re in the Hamptons this weekend and we just rented this house to hold a few events here for the unusual James, which I’m really excited about,” said the businesswoman as she U.S around the bass. “Today we’re having kind of a pool party, just hanging out. And then tomorrow we have a big wellness day with yoga and some other just fun, kind of rituals.”
