Kelsey Grammer teases the long-awaited Frasier revival could begin shooting this fall. ViacomCBS officially gave the green light to the Paramount+ series last February.
“Shoot? There were some talks about October, maybe a little later. I don’t know,” Grammer revealed in a video preview from his appearance The conversation aired on Mondays (below). “There are a few more things to come. We’ve developed some other projects that look like they’re going to shoot first.”
Grammer confirmed that she is “in the final stages of the final script for the first episode of the” Frasier reboot and it looks pretty good,” he added. “I’ve driven through it a few times and I’ve cried, so you know I’m happy.
The actor said he considers the titular character, played by himself, to be the key element to the revival’s success.
“The main ingredient for the Frasier reboot is actually Frasier, honestly. It was always called [Frasier]so it’s me, the key is me,” Grammer said with a smile.
While there are details as to where the revival will continue after the show’s end in 2004, Grammer shared some clues last summer.
In an interview on WNBC New York, he said the character, who moved from Boston to Seattle for the original series, will end up in a different new place. “He thinks he’s going to do one thing, and sure enough, his life is taking him in another direction,” he said. “And he gets rich beyond his dreams.”
