Kate and William ‘authentic’ after breaking royal protocol

Kate Middleton and Prince William have been hailed as ‘authentic’ and ’empathetic’ by a body language expert after breaking royal protocol.

The Cambridges were in Scotland for a two-day visit on Thursday (May 12) and were met by cheering crowds in Glasgow.

At one point, an elderly man appeared crying and overwhelmed with emotion. Without thinking, William stepped inside and gave him a warm hug.

According to body language expert Darren Stanton, this actually goes against royal protocol.

He explained that the Queen will never see anyone shake hands if she is not wearing gloves, which is one of the traditions she has adopted during her time on the throne.

The man has been identified as 66-year-old William Burns

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Stanton told Goodto.com, “A moment like this marks an unprecedented demonstration of how authentic, empathetic and open Kate and William are.

“William embracing the older man is a rare outpouring of genuine emotion from a senior Royal and you can tell from the man’s face it was one of genuine elation with the moment that he will surely spend the rest of his days with him.” to stay.

“This was a real authentic connection and not a fake for the sake of being in the public arena. You can see the sincerity in William’s face as he wrapped his arms around the man, when the Prince wasn’t afraid to be so close.”

The elderly man turned out to be 66-year-old William Burns, a grandfather of 25 and a resident of a social housing who was homeless.

He told the Daily Mail: “I’m a grandfather. It felt like a son hugging a father.

“It was the way he hugged me. I didn’t really expect that to be honest. It was a boost. I’ve never felt anything like it in all my life and my existence as a human being.”
