Ivanka Trump Rejects Claims of Donald Trump’s Election Fraud

Donald Trump’s daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump, has told a congressional panel investigating the US Capitol bombing that she does not believe the former president’s claims that his 2020 election defeat was the result of vote fraud.

Ivanka Trump, one of her father’s most trusted allies during his four years in the White House, appeared in a video deposition shown during the first in a series of congressional hearings by a selected House of Representatives committee investigating the deadly attack on January 6, 2021 investigated. †

“I respect Attorney General (William) Barr. So I accepted what he said,” she told congressional investigators.

And what Barr said, Ivanka testified, was that his Justice Department had uncovered no significant fraud to support Donald Trump’s claim — a claim the former president still makes — that massive voter fraud in several key states has led to the 2020 elections have been “stolen” from him.

The committee showed a video of Barr’s appearance to panelists. In that video, Barr called his former boss’s fraud claims “bulls**t.”

The former president has been more successful in convincing Republican voters of this view.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll completed on Wednesday found that 58 percent of Republicans viewed the results of the 2020 election as the result of fraud.

Also testified was Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner, another top aide to the former president.

In the video, the president’s son-in-law called it “nagging,” referring to top Trump officials who threatened to resign over the January 6 attack.

The riots followed shortly after Trump delivered an incendiary speech to thousands of supporters outside the White House, repeating his false claims of a stolen 2020 election and urging them to march to the Capitol and “fight like hell.”
