ITV This Morning fans point to issue with Sugababes reunion as Siobhan, Mutya and Keisha show up

There was excitement among music fans when it was revealed at the beginning of This Morning that the original Sugababes lineup would be appearing on the show. And later, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were joined live in the studio by Siobhan Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan.

The reformed band appeared on the ITV daytime show shortly after it was announced they would be going on their first UK headline tour in over 20 years in October, kicking off in Bristol before taking in Leeds, Manchester and Cardiff.

However, the trio started by sharing with the hosts how they were just schoolgirls when they met and started recording music together. When Phillip asked if it was crazy that they started so young, Mutya said, “It really was. You don’t realize how young [we were]†

She added: “A lot of people used to think we were a lot older and I think that’s why it works now because we’re not old. We still have a lot of time and years to go.”

Siobhan talked about the “control” and how they were just “three clumsy teenagers” at the time. “We didn’t go to drama school and we still haven’t been schooled by the media, as you’ll probably see. But you’re very hard on yourself and it’s so different this time.”

They were also asked about a legal battle over the ownership of the pop group’s name. Keisha admitted: “We fought for the name [Sugababes] and legally we wanted it back. It was really important to us because we came up with it when we were kids, but we stayed together and it’s who we really are and we’re just happy to have it back…and that’s why everything we do now means so much Lake.”

But it was something earlier that caught the viewers’ attention. “With six number one singles, millions of albums sold, quite a number of members over the past two decades, the Sugababes have become one of the most successful girl bands of all time,” said Phillip Schofield for a montage of the band’s greatest songs. from.

It featured the group’s very first single, Overload, as well as other memorable songs Round Round and Push the Button. But viewers of This Morning were quick to point out that original member Siobhan was only featured in one of the throwback clips.

They mainly referred to Heidi Range, an original member of girl group Atomic Kitten, although she left the group before releasing material, who replaced Siobhan in the group.

Siobhan literally left before they got big #ThisMorning they should have all the members together! Imagine!” @DarioCJK wrote: “So the montage of their hits didn’t really have Siobhan in them…meh #ThisMorning.”

@swanseasucks tweeted: “These girls are so damn talented, let’s not forget Heidi though, she was in most of their bops #ThisMorning.” @missohlola argued: “They really should have Heidi there as she was with them for most of the singles/albums #ThisMorning.” @missohlola shared: “Siobhan can really only sing as two of their singles, pretty much the rest was Heidi! #ThisMorning.”
