After the tripartite reign of Maha Vikas Aghadi, it is the turn of the ‘twin-engine’ Shinde-Fadnavis regime to rule Maharashtra. The opposition dubbed the new alliance “Maha Vinaash Aghadi,” and as if approving the nomenclature, the cabinet destroyed Shinde within hours of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis taking the oath of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively, the MVA government. immediately over. decision to stop the construction project with the subway in the forest of Aarey.
It is known to all that “Aarey” was Fadnavis’ baby, ratified when Fadnavis was the chief minister of Maharashtra. And he picked it up again. On Thursday evening, Chief Minister Shinde left for Goa to meet his band of rebel MLAs, while Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis stayed behind to revel in his Aarey victory, which came shortly after the major setback to his status, his own relegation to Deputy Chief Minister. Can’t be karma, right?
That said, parts of the media in recent days have labeled Uddhav Thackeray “the reluctant Chief Minister” and hinting that it was only at the persistent urging of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar that Uddhav Thackeray agreed to wear the Chief Minister’s hat. to set up .
Now Pawar says he saw the barely hesitating disappointment on Fadnavis’s well-broadcast face. And Pawar said that what he saw was a reflection of what Fadnavis has been sentenced for, which is to face and endure the humiliation that awaits him under Shinde’s command. But Pawar is prejudiced and would like nothing more than to see Shinde and Fadnavis at each other’s throats.
Which brings us all back to the question: will Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister DevendraFadnavis get along like the proverbial fire, or will the two crave each other at some point in the near future? That said, which of the two has the real influence?
Only the naive people will not believe that Devendra Fadnavis would not be in charge. Without a doubt, the decision to give up the prime ministership must have been forced on Fadnavis by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Home Secretary Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda can only be movers at best, in that order!
Nadda said Fadnavis selflessly gave up his ownership of the Chief Minister’s post for the greater good sounding so hollow you could make a whistle out of it. And within two minutes there was Amit Shah praising Fadnavis for the same reason, selflessly! Whoever said the BJP has robots for leaders was not speaking from the back of his mind.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will forever be indebted to Modi and forever careful not to stray from the trodden path of the BJP. Shinde is more or less already painted with the BJP brush. And Uddhav Thackeray can rest assured. After naming his rebel group Balasaheb Shiv Sena, Eknath Shinde can no longer linger over Thackeray’s Shiv Sena name and election symbol.
That does not mean that the real Shiv Sena would be free from poaching and perhaps even decimation. The destruction of the Shiv Sena is the pinnacle depicted by the BJP. Allowing Shinde to play Fadnavis’ big brother is the BJP’s way of keeping Hindutva under one roof. It could also be another step to ensure Modi becomes prime minister for a third time.
The hoi polloi, the “janata” in the BJP, should know that everyone in the BJP is cued, tuned and programmed to serve just one man, continue that one man’s programs, build a cult around his ambitions – that man, Prime Minister Narendra Modi! By the time Modi is done with India, no other man would stand up to him. And Maharashtra cannot be aloof from Modi’s plans for India.
That said, there is one man who can summon Narendra Modi in the days leading up to the 2024 general election, the newly crowned Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who has been given India’s richest state and India’s wealthiest city to handle with care. to treat.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s job will be to face the pressures, many of which will come his way; and that, from just one direction, the BJP! The BJP will do its best to finish all traces of the Shiv Sena if possible, including traces of the Balasaheb Shiv Sena. For Shinde, the job is cut, he must ensure that the BJP never forgets that not much has changed for Modi’s party in the past two and a half years; that the BJP remains dependent on the Shiv Sena, now with ‘Balasaheb’ added to its name for greater effect.
