‘I Was Called Nancy Pelosi’s Dog’: Select Committee Hearings in Capitol Riots Begin

U.S. Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards and filmmaker Nick Quested were the first witnesses to appear at the Capitol riot hearings on Friday, Jan. 6.

The House Select Committee began hearings Friday about the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

“On January 6, 2021 and the days after, I got a lot of calls,” said Ms. Edwards.

“I was called Nancy Pelosi’s dog, called incompetent, called a hero and a villain, I was called a traitor to my country, my oath and my constitution.

“In fact I wasn’t one of those things. I was an American standing face to face with other Americans and wondering how many times – many, many times – how we got here.”
