For the first time in the 2022 Ontario Hockey League Championship, the Hamilton Bulldogs have taken a series lead thanks to a 3-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires Sunday afternoon.
Mason McTavish scored two goals in the win, including the winning goal 1:59 in the third period at FirstOntario Center.
With the win, Hamilton takes a 3-2 series lead into Game 6 on Monday-evening in Windsor. If necessary, Game 7 will be played on Wednesday-evening in Hamilton.

McTavish tied the game at 2-2 with 7:02 to go in the second period when he slammed the puck into the top corner past striker’s goalkeeper Mathias Onuska, much to the delight of 7,690 fans at the rink in downtown Hamilton.
Windsor’s Ryan Johnson opened the scoring midway through the first period after his shot slammed off the glass behind the Bulldogs net and then bounced over the top of the goal before hitting goalkeeper Marco Costantini and crossing the goal line.

The Dogs made it 1-1 about five and a half minutes later, when Ryan Winterton hit a rebound off Windsor’s net.
Ryan Abraham gave the Spitfires a 2-1 lead of just over three minutes in the middle of the half for Hamilton’s comeback.
Costantini made 24 saves in the win, while Onuska saved 21 shots.
