Essex County OPP will not press charges against a youth who reportedly made some threats Thursday that led to a Tecumseh school going into “hold and secure” mode.

The OPP Tecumseh detachment received a call around 1:40 pm that a young person had “made a comment” regarding the Ecole secondaire catholique l’Essor.

Police said officers went to the school, at 13605 St Gregory’s Rd., and found the person responsible. The officers determined that the boy had no weapon and never posed a threat to staff or students.

Security was lifted shortly after 2 p.m. The matter will be handled internally at the school, police said.
