A suspected drunk driver and his passenger were killed after colliding with another car following a high-speed police chase in Southern California, authorities said.
The driver of the second car was taken to hospital with minor injuries after the crash late Friday in Rowland Heights, southeast of Los Angeles, CBS LA reported.
The chase began in nearby La Habra when an officer attempted a traffic stop for a suspected intoxicated driver shortly after 10:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Erik Roy of the La Habra Police Department.
The driver initially appeared to give in, before driving away and leading the police on a chase, Roy said.
The driver and passenger, who were not immediately identified, died at the accident site, he said.
