Days out: the luxury hotel’s beautiful Arts and Crafts gardens open to the public

THE English Country Gardens of Whatley Manor will be open to the public for one day next week as part of the National Garden Scheme.

Twelve acres are laid out in 26 rooms themed around color, scent or style and inspired by the original 1920s Arts and Crafts plan.

Set in beautiful countryside near Easton Grey, a short drive from Malmesbury, the former manor house was bought in 2000 by Marco and Alix Landolt, who had stayed there when their son Christian took part in the nearby Badminton Horse Trials. They have restored it and opened it as a luxury hotel in 2003.

It will be open on June 14 from 2 to 6 pm. Admission is £6.50 for adults and there are drinks in the Loggia garden.
