David Spade gives a Burger King employee the surprise of a lifetime.

Kevin Ford, 54, went viral on TikTok after a video in which he received a bag filled with a single movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, some Live Savers, a bag of Reese’s Pieces, and a few other items blew up for his work anniversary. He had worked for the company as a cook and cashier for 27 years without, according to him, taking a single day off.

Social media users were shocked by the company’s poor treatment for its years of service. His daughter eventually created a GoFundMe page to make his anniversary a little more special.

β€œHe started working in this job as a single father when he got custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago. As our family grew and he remarried, he moved on [sic] to work here because of the great health insurance provided by this employer because it was a union,” Seryna wrote on the fundraiser page. “He has put all four of his daughters through high school and college with full health coverage.”

“My father will continue to work here because although he looks young, he is approaching retirement age and his departure would cost him his pension,” she added. “We are in no way asking for money or expecting money, but if anyone wants to bless him, he would be happy to visit his grandchildren.”

The fundraiser quickly shot past its original goal, raising more than $70,000 at the time of writing.

Among the backers was “Saturday Night Live” alum David Spade.

Spade donated $5,000 and became the fund’s largest donor. However, he didn’t stop there and even contacted Ford personally on Instagram.

“Keep it up. 27 years,” he wrote in a screenshot obtained by TMZ†

β€œHOLY Sβ€” Dude!!! Can’t believe this!!!” Ford wrote in response. “THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! For even watching the video! I love you my brother!!! Much love and God bless….I think [I] maybe take a day off.”

The star joked back, writing, “Wait until year 30. πŸ˜‚”

Speaking to YouTuber Sierra Nicole, Ford responded to the overwhelming support from everyone online.

β€œI want to thank everyone who is there. It’s just so overwhelming,” he said. “I’m just Kevin, you know. I just love everyone. I think it’s probably touched people because I think we as humans, period, just need love and gratitude And when you see someone like that, you know, … I was happy to get something. Some people didn’t get anything, so I was just happy to get something.”
