Daniel Radcliffe’s Miracle Workers is the best show you don’t watch

We all know that there are a lot of shows on TV — not to mention the plethora of streaming services available — and it’s pretty hard to keep track of every show that gets recommended or inspires a bit of hype.

Basically, add in work, sleep, and general life — and most of us have quite a list of shows we say we’re going to watch one day, but never get around to.

But Miracle Workers is one to put at the top of the list.

(Note to self: maybe it’s time to remove from the list everything that wasn’t even viewed during the lockdown).

One of the biggest problems facing Miracle Workers, a dark comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi, is that it’s not exactly accessible. At least not in the way we’re used to.

The show airs on TBS and can be streamed on HBO Max (but not months after the series ends).

But with Season 4 hitting our screens in January, now’s the time to dive into the existing trilogy if you haven’t already. Because they’re all available to stream and the show is well worth the wait. And, of course, one of the benefits of watching less fashionable shows is that it’s easier to avoid spoilers.

But what is it actually about?

In a nutshell, it’s a kind of dark rom-com that follows a pair of lowly angels going about their Godly business as they try to act as matchmakers for a pair of shy nerds who shamelessly want to rip each other’s pants off but manage to win gold. If being clumsy was an Olympic sport.

Previous seasons were based on the afterlife, the Middle Ages and the Old West. And season 4 takes us to the end of the world.

The show is weird, goofy, and damn hilarious in a way that just watching it will show you how.

Okay, so it doesn’t have a huge fan base, gets virtually no online discussion, and hasn’t won any awards (or even been nominated as far as I know).

And yet it is an absolute treat. So take another look at that list of shows you have yet to see, start culling some of the shows that have been hanging around so long they’ve started to sprout moss, and put Miracle Workers at the top.
