Crown Princess Victoria attends the annual Swedish Academy ceremony

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden looked picture-perfect as she attended the Swedish Academy’s annual grand ceremony tonight.

The 45-year-old mother of two put her fashion best foot forward for the occasion in a striking purple dress with an elegant round neckline and long sleeves at the Old Stock Exchange building in Stockholm.

Looking effortlessly elegant, Victoria was joined by her husband, Crown Prince Daniel, 49, and her father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, 76, and mother Queen Silvia, 78, for the glitzy event.

It comes as the stylish royal family traditionally picked her family’s annual Christmas tree last week.

Tonight, Victoria shone in the form-fitting plum dress that hugged her slim silhouette.

On the dress she wore her royal sash and her honor, tied to the outfit with a blue ribbon.

She wore the Collared Grand Cross of the Royal Order of the Seraphim, as well as the Grand Cross of the Social Order of Innocence, and her father’s Jubilee Medals.

The crown princess put her hair in a bun and kept her accessories to a minimum, wearing only a round silver necklace adorned with a blue gemstone and matching earrings.

Last week, Victoria got into the festive spirit by picking the royal family’s Christmas tree.

The heir to the throne was a vision of elegance as she received the Christmas trees at the Royal Palace this year and chose which spruces would be decorated and displayed.

The mother-of-two put on a flowing red ankle-length dress that she paired with a charcoal-colored jacket to combat the winter chill.

She completed the look with a beautiful pair of high heels, which at first glance had a simple dark color, but impressed with a colorful floral pattern on the side.

Choosing the Christmas tree is a tradition of the Swedish family that takes place every year and is observed by all its members.

True to tradition, the royal family welcomes students of the master’s program at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).

The students will present the royal family with a selection of Christmas trees from which they will then choose to display at the royal palace in Stockholm.

SLU has been donating Christmas trees to the Royal Palace since the late 1960s. According to this tradition, the King’s Cave got its current name, originally it was called Nordmann’s Branch.
