Chicago Police Release Video of Person Involved in North Avenue Beach Shooting – NBC Chicago

Chicago police released a video of a person involved in a shooting that injured a man on North Avenue Beach earlier this week.

The shooting took place around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday when a fight broke out on the beach, according to police. A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.

Officers chased two people who ran away and were able to detain one of them. The second person was seen throwing a fanny pack before evading police.

The platoon was recovered and a pistol with an extensive magazine was found. Police have released surveillance videos and photos of that person.

Less than five minutes after the shooting, police began dispersing people from the beach and closed it to the public. The crowd flocked to the nearby neighborhood.

A second fight broke out on North Avenue and Wells Street involving people on the beach. At least three officers were injured in the fight, but none of the injuries were serious.

Three arrests were made: two 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old girl.
