The recent release of some promotional images for DC’s upcoming figures Black Adam movie have given us our best look at the movie’s villain yet.

The new images (via The Direct) come from the movie’s toy line and feature nearly all of the main characters, including Sabbac, the movie’s main villain and a menacing-looking presence. Sabbac hasn’t appeared in any trailer for the film, so it’s unclear exactly how he will star in the film.

In the DC comics, Sabbac has the ability to harness and use the powers of Hell by speaking his own name. Throughout the comics, Sabbac acts as an adversary to the Shazam family, as well as having several encounters with the likes of Black Adam. In the film, he is played by Marwan Kenzari, who appears to be playing both Sabbac and Ishmael Gregor, an alter ego of Sabbac.

Black Adam includes the introduction of Dwayne Johnson as Teth-Adam or the titular antihero, whose backstory was first teased in 2019 Shazam! This marks the character’s live-action debut after appearing only in animation shows and movies like young justice† † † † Johnson is joined by Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Other cast members include Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer and Uli Latukefu in unnamed roles.
Based on the DC Comics character created by Otto Binder and CC Beck, the film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, Jungle Cruise) from a screenplay written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshiryani. Producers include Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, along with Beau Flynn of FlynnPicturesCo, while Scott Sheldon oversees the project for FlynnPictureCo.
