The seven-member K-pop supergroup BTS will meet with Biden at the White House later this afternoon to discuss Asian hate crimes.

In a statement, the White House said Biden and BTS “will discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion and the BTS platform as youth ambassadors spreading a message of hope and positivity around the world.”

The meeting will take place on the last day of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. BTS’ hit “Butter” dominated the charts for weeks earlier in 2022.

Tuesday’s meeting will not be Biden’s first meeting with younger music artists. During the 2020 presidential campaign, he was interviewed by rapper Cardi B to discuss racism and free education. Last summer, pop star Olivia Rodrigo visited the White House to promote youth vaccination against COVID-19.
