AXA launched “WiseProtect Pro Medical Insurance Plan”

Annual payout limit up to MOP40million and no lifetime benefit limit

MACAU SAR – Media OutReach – May 23, 2022 – AXA Hong Kong and Macau (AXA) today announced the launch of WiseProtect Pro Medical Insurance Plan” (“WiseProtect Pro”)providing customers with comprehensive and high-quality protection with medical coverage, including annual benefit limit of up to 40 million MOP, no lifetime benefit limit, full coverage1 for qualified medical treatment and no waiting period. In addition, the premium “Noble” benefit level provides worldwide medical coverage (excluding the US)2 to meet the needs of clients studying abroad or on a business trip.

Three notable features of the WiseProtect Pro are as follows:

1) No lifetime benefit limit; up to MOP40 million annual distribution limit

Given the ever-increasing medical costs, customers at all benefit levels of “WiseProtect Pro” will enjoy coverage with no lifetime benefit limit. The annual distribution limits of the “Regular”, “Enhance” and “Premier” distribution levels are MOP5 million, MOP25 million and MOP30 million respectively. Customers of the ‘Noble’ benefit level enjoy an annual payout limit of up to 40 million MOP. The coverage allows our customers to focus on tackling their health concerns without worrying about running out of benefit cap.

2) “Nobel” benefit level offers worldwide2 medical coverage

By embracing the concept of global citizenship, the premium ‘Noble’ benefit level offers worldwide2 coverage for non-emergency treatment, so that customers can receive high-quality medical protection even when they are abroad. During their hospitalization, policyholders can also receive private nursing from a licensed nurse for a maximum of 30 days per insurance year. Insured persons under the age of 18 who have been hospitalized for at least 5 consecutive days can receive additional financial support up to a maximum of MOP 5,0003† Within 180 days of hospital discharge and on the advice of a physician, the insured customer may also receive additional rehabilitation support up to MOP 80,000 for up to 90 days per policy year, covering the cost of related treatment as per medical advice, in an accredited hospital or a recognized rehabilitation facility.

In addition, all “WiseProtect Pro” customers can enjoy worldwide emergency treatment coverage. Comprehensive protection is available for an insured who is unfortunately involved in an accident while traveling and needs emergency treatment to prevent death, permanent damage or other serious consequences.

3) Up to 180 days outpatient follow-up visits after hospital discharge for major or complex surgical procedures with no claim limit; ffull coverage1 for prescription non-surgical cancer treatments

“WiseProtect Pro” provides immediate and comprehensive protection after the policy has come into effect, with no waiting period. It also provides full coverage1 for prescribed non-surgical cancer treatments and an unlimited number of designated outpatient follow-up claims within 180 days of hospital discharge for major or complex surgical procedures. With the new benefit that covers specific reconstructive surgeries, including post-accident oral and maxillofacial procedures and breast reconstruction surgery, “WiseProtect Pro” can help its clients overcome a variety of health challenges.

In addition, policyholders of the “Enhance” benefit level can enjoy a daily benefit4 of MOP1,000 during their hospitalization in a lower ward class in Hong Kong and Macau, while those of the “Premier” and “Noble” can receive benefit levels of MOP2,000.

A range of additional support services to meet the medical needs of policyholders at all times

In addition, a cashless service within the AXA Signature Network will be available to “WiseProtect Pro” policyholders, saving customers time in handling medical claims. In addition, “WiseProtect Pro” provides a free medical consultation service for policyholders to receive a second medical opinion from doctors through face-to-face meetings. Under “WiseProtect Pro” qualified nurses can be arranged to provide the insured with advice and timely support throughout the recovery process.
