Aussie stars reveal juicy details about jobs they’ve been fired from

The main goal for stars who continue Famous Pupil is to win money for their chosen charity and avoid being fired by Lord Alan Sugar.

We’ve got some of the country’s biggest names going head to head, competing in challenges that test different aspects of business.

But have the celebrities been fired before? We sat down with the stars to find out! You can watch the full video above.

NRL legend Benji Marshall is no stranger to job layoffs, so we learned.

“My very first job was delivering newspapers and because of that I was fired because the newspapers didn’t end up in the right place,” he told 9Entertainment.

“My next job was at Hungry Jacks making burgers, but my friends ordered burgers and I made them bigger burgers, so I got fired there too.”

Amy Shark was fired from her retail job after she closed the store early to see a band perform.

“I got a call the next day saying ‘Don’t come back,'” she said.

“I probably shouldn’t have done that. In hindsight, it was a really good performance… Maybe I would have done it all over again.”

Popular TV host Darren McMullen knows a thing or two about getting fired.

“I’ve been fired from every job I’ve ever done in my life until I got into the entertainment industry,” he revealed.

Bankstown’s Carla was fired from her first job at McDonalds after a customer found pink hair in their McFlurry. But to this day, Carla is still convinced it wasn’t hers.

Jodi Gordon had a bad run in her first hospitality job.

“One of the waiters had me carry six glasses of champagne from one side of the bar to the other. I thought the way you hold six glasses of champagne was on your head on a platter,” she recalls.

“I managed to spread it to one of the clients… Yes, I was fired.”
