Depay’s transfer condition set

Barcelona will only penalize Arsenal’s departure against Memphis Depay this summer if they can recruit a suitable replacement.

Depay has been linked with a move to the Gunners to offset the potential departure of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah when their contracts expire this summer, with ex-captain and fellow striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaving the club in January. But reports coming out of Spain suggest Barcelona boss Xavi is keen to keep Depay if he can’t bring in a new attacker this summer.

The news could be a blow to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta as he looks set to see new faces on the attack during the summer transfer window.
