British Foreign Ministers Liz Truss and Turkey’s Mevlut Cavusoglu on Thursday warned of “devastating consequences” if a quick solution to Ukraine’s grain export crisis through the Black Sea following the Russian attack on Ukraine is not found.
“This grain crisis is urgent and must be resolved within the next month or we will see devastating consequences,” Truss said at a news conference with her Turkish counterpart Cavusoglu in Ankara.
The comments come hours after reports that United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will soon meet representatives of Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, in an effort to ensure the export of Ukrainian grain through the country’s ports on the Black Sea. .
