An eyesore or art? Dublin residents worry about mural | Ireland

sean Callan considers the large mural by broadcaster David Attenborough that appeared three years ago in Portobello in Dublin’s south inner city. “I love it,” says Callan, who has lived there for 45 years. “I would like to have one for my own house. I think it is beautiful.”

The lurid colors and large scale of the mural may put some people off – it could easily be considered too sharp or not sharp enough to be of artistic value. Residents of Portobello who spoke to The Sunday Times last week everyone agreed with Callan that the piece, which sits on the gable wall of a listed Victorian home, was a welcome addition to the area.
