After woman dies, police search for Wisconsin man accused of assaulting victims on dating apps – NBC Chicago

The search for a man accused of targeting women on dating apps and then drugging and robbing them has intensified after one of his victims died this week, officials say.

According to NBC affiliate WTMJ, a 55-year-old woman who was apparently targeted by the suspect in the case suffered an “unknown medical emergency” and has since died.

Police in Racine this week issued a community alert about the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Timothy Olson.

Authorities say at least three women met Olson through dating apps and subsequently fell victim to his alleged crimes. Police say the women become unconscious while in the company of the suspect and he then robs them.

According to the Racine Police Department, Olson has ties to both Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

According to WTMJ, a South Milwaukee bar owner says a regular guest arrived at the establishment with Olson on Thursday. Police say the two ordered drinks and the woman passed out a few minutes later.

“We’ve never seen this guy here before,” says Powers at 10e said owner Joseph Braun. “They each ordered a drink, she was in here, five minutes max, and within those five minutes she was just standing there and she froze.”

A bartender called 911, according to WTMJ, and she was rushed to an area hospital, where she later died.

Braun says the suspect said he was “going to get her inhaler” and fled the scene.

Police say Olson met another woman through a dating app in Racine, then drugged her and stole her credit card.

Federal officials are assisting in the search for Olson, who is said to be six feet tall and weigh about 500 pounds.

He has outstanding warrants for five counts of identity theft in Racine. He also sometimes uses the alias Tim Wilson.

The Racine Police Department says if anyone has information about his whereabouts or his online activities, they can call 262-635-7756. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call 262-636-9330.
