Adele is overcome with emotion as she takes the stage at BST Hyde Park Festival

Adele was overcome with emotion as she took the stage at London’s BST Hyde Park Festival on Friday.

The singer, 34, wore an elegant black off-the-shoulder halter-neck dress with her waist cinched in with a metallic gold belt.

As she stood in the early evening sun, the sequined detail glittered on her dress as she performed, with Adele yelling “I’m so glad to be back” as she looked out over the gigantic crowd.

The singer opted for a make-up palette of gold and bronze tones and wore her hair neatly up.

Crowds of fans gathered to see Adele after she teased some behind-the-scenes snaps from her rehearsals this week.

She wore a casual ensemble in the Instagram images shared Thursday as she pulled out a song during the practice session.

The Easy On Me hitmaker looked good as she sat cross-legged on a chair and sang passionately into a microphone for the performances on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 July.

Adele opted for a comfortable look for the studio rehearsals, with a black hoodie, sweatpants and trainers.

The mother-of-one went makeup-free as she let her caramel locks fall loosely over her shoulders.

To make sure she stayed hydrated while singing, Adele had a large bottle of water and a hot drink on hand.

To spark excitement for her rare live performances, Adele captioned her asking, “Who’s ready for tomorrow!?”

And while many of her fans were thrilled at the prospect of seeing her perform her biggest hits live, there were plenty of others who were disappointed at the lack of information about her Vegas shows.

Last week, Adele took to Instagram again to speak up about her Hyde Park show, saying it would “blow the socks” of her fans.

She shared a photo of herself along with Mahalia, Gabrielle, Kacey Musgraves and Tiana Major9, who will also be performing in Hyde Park on the same day.

Alongside the post, she wrote: ‘The lineup for my Hyde Park shows next week will blow your mind!!

‘An all-female bill, from new artists I’m obsessed with to the heavenly @spaceykacey to one of my all-time favorite artists @gabrielleuk who I’ve loved since I was 4!!

“It’s going to be unbelievable, we’ll be performing with a whole group all day long, I can’t wait to share the main stage with you ladies.”

But her disgruntled fans quickly took to the comment section to question the Hello hitmaker about her stay in Las Vegas, which was hit by a series of delays.

Weekends with Adele was set to begin January 21 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

But the day before kick-off, Adele announced she would be postponing the 12-week residency, citing the COVID-19 pandemic as a mitigating factor.

The last minute cancellation left many fans out of money after spending thousands in tickets and air fares to see her on stage.

One person wrote in the comments: ‘Are you kidding? And you’re still silent about Vegas? I am disappointed in you.’

Another furious: ‘WILL YOU COME TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT?’

A third wrote, “Damn it, Adele, so I think they’re the ones who bought tickets to Las Vegas.”

While a fourth added: ‘What happened to Vegas? lmao’

And a fifth said, ‘What about the dates of stay????’

Her highly anticipated residency has been hit by more delays as Caesars Palace – where she will perform – has been reported to have laid off staff over the summer.

According to The Sun, theater workers at the Nevada hotel, casino and entertainment complex had been told to “go home” until September.

The alleged move is casting doubt on Adele’s highly anticipated appearances – which she says “should happen this year” – with Rod Stewart set to begin performing at the venue in late September.

The publication says union officials representing staff at the Colosseum – the main entertainment venue for Caesars Palace – confirmed that members had been asked to “go home until September.”

And with Rod heading to the Coliseum in September and amid recent hints from 34-year-old Adele that she wants to have a baby in 2023, it seems likely fans will have to wait longer to see the Chasing Pavements hitmaker perform.

MailOnline has reached out to representatives of Adele and Caesar’s Palace for comment.

It had previously been suggested that space was being made for her to release her biggest hits at The Colosseum, with Keith Urban completing his own residency on June 18, before Rod Stewart set up shop on September 23.
