Actor Ezra Miller arrested on suspicion of assault in Hawaii | Hawaii

Fantastic Beasts star Ezra Miller has been arrested on suspicion of assault in Hawaii just weeks after police in the Big Island arrested the actor for disorderly conduct and assault.

The 29-year-old star, also known for playing Flash in Justice League films, “went furious” after being asked to leave a private home and allegedly threw a chair, which hit a woman on the forehead, according to a statement from the Hawaii Police Department.

Police later arrested and released Miller during a traffic stop around 1:30 a.m. The 26-year-old woman was being treated for a cut about an inch across her forehead, police said.

The arrest comes as Miller faces charges of harassment and disorderly conduct after an incident at a karaoke bar in March in which police said the annoyed actor grabbed a woman’s microphone and lunged at a man playing darts.

Charges for the arrest of the karaoke bar and a separate traffic case were scheduled for Tuesday. Miller was involved in a dispute in downtown Hilo last month, with police responding after the actor refused to leave the area and blocked a sidewalk, said Kenneth Quiocho, Hawaii’s assistant chief of police.

Francis Alcain, Miller’s attorney, had requested that Tuesday’s hearing, previously scheduled for next week, be postponed, telling the court that the actor has “several time-sensitive work commitments in California and/or New York.” and needed an earlier hearing to resolve the issue. Alcain did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Associated Press.

The star’s legal problems threaten their career. Rolling Stone reported earlier this month that Warner Bros and DC executives held an emergency meeting after Miller’s initial arrest, at which they decided to pause future projects with the actor.

Miller’s latest arrest comes days after the US release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, in which the actor reprises their role as Credence Barebone. Miller, who also starred in We Need to Talk About Kevin and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, stars in a standalone Flash movie set to be released in 2023.
