Abu Dhabi City Municipality Completes Improvement and Restoration Work on Vehicle Tunnel Leading to Al Maqtaa Bridge

Abu Dhabi City Municipality, affiliated to the Department of Municipalities and Transport, through the Infrastructure and Municipal Assets Sector, has completed the project to upgrade and rehabilitate the vehicular tunnel leading to Al Maqtaa Bridge in Abu Dhabi, in consistent with the strategic objective of increasing the efficiency of asset management, infrastructure and public facilities, and maintaining their effectiveness to enhance Abu Dhabi Emirate’s attractiveness, lifestyle and quality.

Improve the aesthetic appearance of public facilities and extend the life of the tunnel.

The project included improving and restoring the general appearance of the walls of the vehicular tunnel leading to the Al Maqtaa Bridge, carrying out cosmetic work in accordance with the highest quality standards, maintaining the surface components of the tunnel, installing cosmetic tiles, dyes and more works that gave the tunnel a consistent aesthetic appearance. The project is in compliance with the sustainability standards approved by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council.

It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi City Municipality – under an ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation plan – is developing and rehabilitating the infrastructure system in Abu Dhabi to improve the civilized appearance and increase efficiency in line with the requirements of extensive development in the emirate, offering the best facilities and modern infrastructure.
