LAVAL — In the Pont-Viau district of Laval, a pedestrian was fatally hit by a motorist on Saturday afternoon.
The 85-year-old woman was crossing the street at the intersection de la Concorde Est and de la Normandie when the collision occurred at around 4:55 p.m.

Her death was pronounced on the spot.
According to a spokesperson for the Service de police de Laval (SPL), the driver, an 80-year-old woman, was making a turn and did not see the pedestrian.
Patrick Boucher of the SPL confirms that there will be no criminal charges.
