The online travel publication published a list of the 25 best tent camping spots in the US and included Acadia National Park in Maine, the Green Mountain National Forest in Vermont, and the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire and Maine.
“Camping offers people the chance to reconnect with nature and recharge their spirits, while gaining a new appreciation for the simple life,” said VacationIdea.com.
The Acadia National Park campgrounds in Maine include Blackwoods, Seawall, Schoodic Woods, and five attached shelters at Duck Harbor Campground on Isle au Haut. According to the site, campers can choose from wooded sites, ocean views, hiking trails, hike-in campgrounds, and more.
Vermont campers in the Green Mountain National Forest can choose between Hapgood Pond, Moosalamoo and Chittenden Brook campgrounds, the site said.
“The shade tree forest and hilly terrain present a welcome challenge for adventure seekers,” the site wrote about Chittenden Brook, which is popular with hikers and mountain bikers.
Finally, the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire and Maine offers “camping at any number of modern campgrounds and backcountry campgrounds with complete wilderness immersion,” the site wrote.
Outdoor activities for campers in the White Mountain National Forest include fishing, hiking, and climbing.
